Programmer Analyst
Position: In person- no remote
The Programmer Analyst will design, develop, implement, and support various reporting and analysis needs, ensuring accurate information presentation for internal staff and business partners. The Programmer Analyst will also organize and maintain technical and functional data specifications, ensuring adherence to AllCare IPA standards. The Programmer Analyst will help load, maintain, and improve the quality of system data imports and exports while ensuring compliance with timeframes. This position includes maintaining relationships with trading partners, health plans, and internal business teams. As part of the Data Team, the Programmer Analyst will coordinate activities and project schedules under the guidance of the Data Team Supervisor.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze healthcare data.
- Generate comprehensive reports and dashboards to present data findings to administrative teams.
- Develop and manage database stored procedures, views, and triggers to enhance application functions.
- Work with various healthcare groups on data import and export specifications, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in data handling and reporting.
- Coordinate data reconciliations with health plans and address issues in gap and rejection repots.
- Work with healthcare groups to gather data requirements and deliver solutions.
- Provide technical support to users regarding database-related issues and data access.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues in SQL queries and database applications.
- Maintain clear documentation of data processes, database structures, and programming standards.
Required Experience
- Over 5 years of experience as a database programmer, preferably with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Reporting Services, and SQL Server Integration Services.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and Power BI Desktop.
- Strong knowledge of standard X12 ANSI file formats: 837, 835, 834, 277, and 999.
- Familiarity with WordPress, WIX, HTML, JavaScript, ASP.NET, Python, and PowerShell.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills required.
- Able to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Capable of working independently on assigned tasks or projects.
- Healthcare experience preferred.
- Knowledgeable in claims processing, managing claim payments, and obtaining procedure authorization approvals is a plus.
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field or equivalent education and experience.
