Overview
We seek a skilled Business Intelligence Database Administrator (BI DBA) to manage and optimize our data infrastructure, ensuring our BI and data analytics environments’ availability, performance, and security.
The BI DBA will be responsible for the administration, performance, security, and maintenance of our BI databases and data warehousing systems. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with data architects, analysts, and other stakeholders to design and maintain robust data solutions that support our business intelligence initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Database Management: Install, configure, and manage database systems (such as SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL) to support BI platforms.
· Optimization and Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and other strategies.
· ETL Processes: Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to support data integration from multiple sources.
· Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce database security protocols to protect sensitive data, including managing user roles, permissions, and data encryption.
· Backup and Recovery: Ensure regular backups, implement disaster recovery solutions, and manage database replication processes.
· Collaboration: Work closely with BI developers, analysts, and IT teams to ensure data quality and availability for reporting and analytics needs.
· Troubleshooting: Provide support to resolve database and ETL issues, including conducting root-cause analysis and implementing long-term solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
· Experience in database administration, focusing on business intelligence systems and data warehousing.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
· Proficiency in SQL and multiple DBMS and Cloud Based Platforms (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
· Experience with cloud-based data solutions (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
· Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Domo) and data integration tools.
· Strong understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing methodologies.
· Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation is a plus.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
