Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Engineer is responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the MES platform at Boviet Solar. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance manufacturing efficiency, data integration, and system reliability. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in manufacturing IT systems, specifically MES, and experience in the solar or semiconductor manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- MES Implementation and Support:
- Configure, implement, and maintain the MES platform to ensure seamless integration with Boviet Solar's manufacturing operations.
- Develop and customize MES applications to meet specific manufacturing needs, including tracking, data collection, and reporting.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and IT teams to deploy MES solutions that enhance manufacturing capabilities.
- System Integration and Data Management:
- Integrate MES with other manufacturing systems, such as ERP, SCADA, and PLCs, to ensure real-time data flow across the production environment.
- Manage data interfaces and ensure data integrity and accuracy throughout the manufacturing process.
- Develop and optimize data reporting and analytics to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement MES-driven solutions to enhance production efficiency and reduce costs.
- Analyze manufacturing processes and collaborate with teams to optimize workflow, reduce downtime, and improve product quality.
- Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and apply MES functionalities to drive operational excellence.
- Troubleshooting and Support:
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for MES-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing operations.
- Train and support end-users on the MES platform, providing guidance on best practices and system functionalities.
- Conduct root cause analysis of system issues and implement corrective actions.
- Project Management and Documentation:
- Lead MES-related projects, from planning and requirements gathering to implementation and testing.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for MES configurations, processes, and system changes.
- Work with vendors and external partners for MES updates, enhancements, and system upgrades.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in MES engineering, implementation, or support in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the solar energy, semiconductor, or electronics manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in MES platforms (e.g., Siemens SIMATIC IT, Rockwell Automation, Camstar).
- Familiarity with databases (SQL, Oracle) and programming/scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python, .NET).
- Experience with system integration, PLCs, SCADA, and ERP systems.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in MES, IT, or manufacturing technology are a plus.
Working Conditions:
- This position may require occasional on-site presence in manufacturing facilities.
- May involve travel to different Boviet Solar locations or vendor sites for system integration and support.
- Work environment includes office and manufacturing settings.
