Job Title: Electrical/Controls Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Electrical/Controls Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automation and control systems for industrial machinery. The ideal candidate will have experience in .NET programming, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and machine control. Additional experience with hydraulics, PID control, and CAD software is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, program, and troubleshoot control systems for industrial machinery.
- Develop software applications using .NET programming for machine control and automation.
- Configure and integrate Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) for motor control applications.
- Implement and fine-tune PID control loops for process automation.
- Design and troubleshoot electrical circuits, schematics, and control panels using CAD software.
- Work with hydraulic systems and integrate them into control systems.
- Perform system testing, debugging, and commissioning of new equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers and production staff.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Provide customer technical support for a variety of products.
- Provide internal manufacturing support.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in industrial automation and machine control.
- Proficiency in .NET programming (C#, VB.NET, or related languages).
- Hands-on experience with VFD setup, programming, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with database queries (SQL and LINQ) and models.
- Knowledge of electrical circuits, sensors, and instrumentation.
- Experience with analog sensors (4-20mA, 0-10V, mV/V, strain gauges).
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, RS-232/485, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with hydraulic control systems and integration.
- Knowledge of PID tuning and implementation in control systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with ASTM standards and their use.
- Experience with wireless protocols and technology (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth).
- User interface (HMI) design experience.
- AutoCAD experience
- Ability to translate standards/procedures into programming algorithms.
- OEM experience.
- Experience working for a small company.
- Experience writing/updating user manuals.
