Duties
- Design, develop, and maintain web applications using ASP.NET and related technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Write clean, scalable code using .NET programming languages.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications to optimize performance.
- Implement front-end components using Angular and integrate them with server-side logic.
- Utilize AJAX and JSON for asynchronous data loading and manipulation.
- Engage in the full software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Maintain documentation of application processes and updates.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance skills.
Requirements
- Proficiency in .NET framework, particularly ASP.NET Core.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
- Experience with web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Angular.
- Familiarity with database management systems including PL/SQL.
- Knowledge of content management systems such as Drupal is a plus.
- Experience with AJAX for creating dynamic web applications.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing individual tasks efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy custom ASP.NET applications to support the Illinois workNet system, ensuring scalability, security, and optimal performance.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in enterprise-scale web development, with a strong focus on ASP.NET MVC 4+, WebAPI 1.1+, JSON, and Identity Server.
- Proficiency in C#.NET, JavaScript (jQuery, Angular, or Java), HTML, and CSS, with a solid understanding of front-end and back-end development.
- Hands-on experience working with SQL Server 2008+, including stored procedures, indexing, views, and database performance optimization.
- Familiarity with web browsers, developer tools, automated testing frameworks, and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- Preferred experience with Illinois workNet or IWDS 2.0 platform (at least 50% of developers on the team should have this experience).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions effectively.
- Write, maintain, and optimize clean, efficient, and scalable code that aligns with industry best practices.
- Develop robust application features utilizing C#.NET, HTML/CSS, JavaScript frameworks (jQuery, Angular, Java), and modern front-end libraries.
- Design and optimize SQL Server 2008+ stored procedures, views, and performance tuning strategies to enhance data management and system responsiveness.
- Engage in Agile development cycles and SCRUM sprints, actively contributing to sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and maintain web applications, identifying and resolving production issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, UX designers, and QA testers, to define requirements and implement innovative features.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and enforce best coding practices to maintain high-quality development standards.
- Stay updated with the latest ASP.NET and web development technologies, implementing enhancements to improve system performance and user experience.
