Job Title: Senior Backend Software Engineer (.NET/C#)
Location: Remote (Must be in Texas, within 100 miles of Dallas, occasional onsite visits required)
Position Overview:
Seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer with 5–10+ years of experience in C# and .NET development. This short-term contract role focuses on backend development, API design, and distributed systems. While primarily remote, candidates must be local to Texas and willing to visit the Dallas office as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable backend web services, applications, and APIs using C# and .NET.
- Write clean, efficient, and reusable code that meets performance and scalability standards.
- Work across all phases of the software development lifecycle, with a primary focus on backend components.
- Ensure simplicity, maintainability, and performance in software design and architecture.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project and organizational goals.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers.
- Promote a culture of inclusive collaboration, best practices, and continuous learning.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5–10+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer or Software Engineer.
- Strong experience in C# and .NET development.
- Proven expertise in RESTful API design, Kafka, and distributed systems at scale.
- Deep understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP), software engineering principles, and design patterns.
- Extensive experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar database systems and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining backend services in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Proficiency in asynchronous programming and event-driven architectures.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.
