Position Purpose
The Software Developer plays a pivotal role in creating innovative solutions by developing, implementing, and maintaining web-based applications and reports to optimize internal business processes. This role actively participates in Scrum events, collaborates with cross-functional team members, and adheres to the Scrum framework, ensuring efficient delivery and continuous improvement. The Software Developer troubleshoots and resolves quality and performance issues, performs application support and problem resolution, and actively contributes to the software development lifecycle within Agile principles. Additionally, they contribute to the design, building, and implementation of new web-based applications and reports, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Essential Position Functions
- By example, a Software Developer seeks to remove tech debt with each solution they provide. They seek and learn and implement current design patterns through training and experimentation and position themselves as future thought leaders in GHC. It is expected that a Developer would not promote or develop solutions using legacy methods that are being phased out or where better and current options exist.
- Ensure development takes place in secure environments with deidentified data. Ensure role-based access to all solutions we provide to the business and to vendors. Ensure their development environment and server environments are current with CVE and service patches.
- Develop web-based applications, following the software development lifecycle, and actively participating in Scrum events.
- Develop, code, install, test, debug, and document on-prem and Azure-base applications using the appropriate editors.
- Develop SQL queries and analyze data issues, collaborating.
- Work collaboratively with the database administrator to design, develop, and update databases as they relate to cloud and on-prem based applications.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with existing web-based applications and websites.
- Conduct research into current and emerging technologies and issues in support of development efforts.
- Follow policies and procedures for publishing web pages and applications in conjunction with content creators, ensuring the security of all websites and related applications.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, aligning activities.
- Perform ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) functions, data replication, and promote API led microservice design patterns when possible. Strong quantitative, analytical, problem solving, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Keen attention to detail.
Minimum Requirements of the Position
- Associate degree in management information systems, software development, computer science (or a related area) or equivalent experience.
- Three to five years related experience, with a focus on Scrum development practices.
- Experience with C#, ASP.Net MVC, WCF, or ASP.NET Web API, CSS, LESS, SASS, Javascript, Javascript libraries, XML, JSON, SOAP, and REST.
- Experience with structuring, developing, and implementing interactive corporate websites and web (API) services.
- Knowledge and skills in database querying and development using SQL Server. Demonstrate abilities in ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) functions, creation/promotion API led microservice design patterns, and data replication, when possible.
- Familiarity with Azure security, IIS, SSL, Encryption, and development security best practices.
- Experience with Azure, Windows, Microsoft Office applications, and FTP settings.
- Demonstrated excellent technical skills within project settings.
- Project management experience is helpful.
- Knowledge of healthcare or insurance preferred, contributing to project alignment with industry requirements.
Certification Requirements
Although it is not realistic for every candidate to carry all listed certifications, it is expected that the employee/candidate be certified in Scrum and credentialed in at least two of the Azure certifications listed below. It is also acceptable to suggest and achieve equal alternative certifications. New hires without required certifications will have 120 days to successfully accomplish the agreed certifications.
- Scrum Certification: Within 60 days of employment obtain Professional Scrum Master (PSM I) and/or within 180 days of employment obtain the Certified Scrum Developer (PSD I/II) to demonstrate proficiency in Scrum principles and practices.
- Azure Certifications:
- AZ-900 Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals (required 3 months)
- AZ-204: Developing Solutions for Microsoft Azure (required 6 months)
- DP-900 Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals (preferred)
- AZ-104 Microsoft Azure Administrator (preferred)
- PL-300 PowerBI Data Analyst (preferred)
