This position provides hybrid telework opportunities, with employees required to work in-person at least two days per week. Beginning July 1, 2025, all employees will be required to work in-person at least four days per week in alignment with Executive Order N-22-25. The office is located at 1810 16th Street, Sacramento.

Under direction of the Information Technology Supervisor II, the Information Technology Specialist I acts as a project leader on and works independently as a technical specialist on the development of applications, and information technology system problems. The Information Technology division is responsible for providing enterprise technology infrastructure, application and support services to CalHR and State Personnel Board employees and customers.
The IT Specialist I works as a lead software developer. As part of this team, you will be responsible for creating, testing, implementing, and maintaining web based applications utilizing the Microsoft technology stack C#.

Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- Three or more years of full-stack software development experience in a professional environment, working on complex, n-tier, custom applications.
- Three or more years of experience with .NET, C#, and SQL Server
- One or more years of experience with low-code solutions such as PowerApps, OnSpring, or Salesforce
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently on development projects.
