Senior .NET Engineer – Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Location: Downtown Chicago (On-site)
Employment Type: Contract to hire, W2 only
Position Summary: We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior .NET Engineer with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to lead critical cloud engineering initiatives. This role requires strong hands-on development skills, cloud architecture proficiency, and the ability to drive complex migrations from AWS to GCP. You’ll serve as a technical leader on the engineering team, guiding design and development efforts, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating closely with stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable, and cloud-native solutions
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, design, and implement enterprise-grade .NET applications on GCP.
- Lead and execute end-to-end migration projects from AWS to GCP, including planning, re-architecture, and implementation.
- Provide technical leadership in cloud-native development and DevOps best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business objectives.
- Develop microservices, APIs, and serverless solutions using .NET Core and GCP services.
- Drive performance optimization, cost efficiency, and scalability in cloud deployments.
- Maintain high standards of code quality through code reviews and mentoring.
- Produce and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of professional software development experience with .NET technologies (C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core).
- 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and deploying solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Proven experience leading AWS to GCP migration projects—including replatforming, refactoring, or rebuilding cloud-native solutions.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes/GKE), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Deep knowledge of GCP services such as Cloud Run, App Engine, Cloud Functions, IAM, Pub/Sub, Firestore, and BigQuery.
- Solid understanding of cloud networking, security, identity management, and infrastructure as code (Terraform or equivalent).
Preferred Qualifications:
- GCP Professional Cloud Architect or AWS certification.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and managing project deliverables.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to lead discussions and influence decisions.
