JOB SUMMARY: The CAD/CAM Programmer at Ran-Tech works within the engineering department and develops CNC programs for machining high tolerance aerospace parts. The team is responsible for the accurate transformation of customer engineering design data into drawings, programs, tooling and instructions for the efficient and safe manufacture and inspection of formed sheet-metal, machined (3, 4 & 5 axis), and assembled parts and subcomponents.
Essential Functions:
▪ Manage, create and maintain CNC mill and lathe programs and setup sheets for accurate production of tooling, machined parts, consistent with company and customer standards.
▪ Interpret part requirements through review of customer specifications, engineering drawings, CAD files, and models.
▪ Create and maintain process documentation including setup sheets and work instructions.
▪ Communicate with customers as needed.
▪ Predictable and reliable attendance.
▪ Ability to adhere to deadlines and produce quality work.
▪ Ability to behave respectfully and work collaboratively with co-workers, customers, and vendors.
▪ Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:

▪ Prior experience in CAM programming, tool design for 3, 4 and 5 axis machined parts manufacturing, brake form and hydro form dies - preferably in the Aerospace industry.
▪ Solid background and experience working with CAD packages, CATIAa V5/V6, SolidWorks or AutoCad.
▪ Project Management experience.
▪ Basic knowledge and experience developing and using aerospace engineering design and control processes within an AS9100 Rev. D system.
▪ Ability to produce written reports, technical documents, specifications, test plans, etc.
▪ Ability to utilize and manage engineering control elements of an ERP system.
▪ Excellent verbal and presentation communication skills are required.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) and 5 to 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, presentations and procedure manuals including the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
Math Ability: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as plane and solid geometry and trigonometry, probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Other Computer Skills: Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel in an updated Windows environment; preferred expertise in utilizing MS Project; and a general understanding of enterprise software (ERP/MRP systems).
