VB.NET Developer - Manufacturing Environment
Description - Work elements:
- Lead in the creation, support, and maintenance of centrally developed applications.
- Lead, create, design, development and deployment information technology applications.
- Re-write programs vital that were developed using an obsolete programming language ensuring continuity of manufacturing I business operations.
- Work with production workers on the manufacturing shop floor and upper-level management to produce quality information Technology solutions.
- Strong communication skills in English, written and spoken word.
- Must be articulate - able to report risks in context and advise on possible solutions utilizing available business resources.
- Desirable experience in Visual Basic 6, vb.net, c#.net, MSOffice Visual Basic for Applications, SQL, Stored Procedures for MySQL/MSSQL.
- Oracle Database, MySQL, MSSQL, Access DB
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Possess a strong team orientation
Requirements:
- The goal for the coming year to redesign and rewrite legacy applications that have been developed and implemented at the customer site over the past 15 -20 years and implement new application required by the Client Manufacturing Operation.
- The above IT resource must be knowledgeable of and experienced using VB.net in a client/server environment interacting with various database platforms.
- 4-7 years of experience in VB.NET 11.0
Deliverables:
- Rewrite existing programs to .NET and over 70+ VB programs running on Job Server, Convert Access DB to MySQL.
- Maintain current applications, break/fixes, and enhancements.
- Develop Digital Moonshine applications, dashboards, reports etc.
- 40 hours per week.
