The front-end-focused Software Engineer designs, builds, and refines rich client-side experiences on Microsoft Azure using TypeScript, modern SPA frameworks (React preferred), and C#/.NET for supporting APIs. They combine UX empathy with engineering discipline to deliver secure, accessible, and performant applications that delight Kestra’s advisors and investors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate wireframes and customer journeys into responsive web applications.
- Develop, test, and maintain component libraries and design-system-compliant front-end code in HTML, CSS, TypeScript + UI frameworks (Angular preferred).
- Build and consume HTTP APIs with C#/.NET; contribute to back-end code as needed to unblock front-end features.
- Optimize front-end performance (bundle size, lazy loading, caching, instrumentation with Azure Application Insights).
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines with front-end unit, integration, and end-to-end tests (Playwright preferred) in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Perform secure-coding peer reviews, threat-model UI surface areas, and remediate OWASP Top 10 issues.
- Instrument feature flags, telemetry, and A/B tests to drive data-driven UX decisions.
- Participate fully in Agile ceremonies; provide story pointing that reflects UI complexity and UX iteration.
- Perform on-call rotations and root-cause analysis; drive post-incident learning.
- Write clear documentation (design diagrams, API contracts, ADRs) and contribute to shared libraries, templates, and coding standards.
- Must be willing to work in the office Monday through Thursday, with optional remote work Friday.
- Must be willing to work with onsite, remote, and offshore teammates.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR ABILITIES:
The individual should have the following skills and abilities:
- Expert TypeScript and React (hooks, context, state management); familiarity with Tailwind or similar CSS-in-JS utilities.
- Solid C#/.NET 6+ for API development (preferred)
- Deep grasp of browser rendering, Core Web Vitals, and front-end security (CSP, CSRF, XSS mitigation).
- Experience with Azure Static Web Apps, App Service, CDN, and Bicep/Terraform for front-end hosting.
- Strong communication skills to bridge the gap between design and engineering.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None – individual contributor; mentors peers through design-system stewardship and UI code reviews.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years developing modern SPAs on Azure.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204) or equivalent front-end cloud certification preferred.
