Job Summary
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is seeking a skilled .NET Developer to support ongoing web application development and modernization initiatives. Under general supervision, this role will contribute to the design, development, testing, and debugging of secure, scalable applications using the .NET framework.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in ASP.NET MVC, JavaScript frameworks, SQL development, and web services, with additional exposure to .NET Core and Azure integration being a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, debug, and modify web-based software applications using .NET technologies.
- Translate business requirements into technical deliverables through well-structured and secure code.
- Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Develop and maintain front-end components using JavaScript frameworks, HTML5, CSS3, and Bootstrap.
- Work on data-driven applications integrating with SQL Server and Oracle databases, including use of PL/SQL and T-SQL.
- Build and consume RESTful and SOAP-based web services.
- Deploy and troubleshoot applications across development, test, and production environments.
- Participate in source control and version management processes using Git or TFS.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of experience in software development, including full SDLC.
- 2+ years of hands-on development with .NET Framework.
- 1+ year of experience with ASP.NET MVC (version 4/5).
- 2+ years working with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and front-end frameworks such as:
- jQuery, Bootstrap
- Experience with Kendo UI, AngularJS, React JS is preferred.
- 2+ years experience in database development using SQL Server and Oracle.
- Experience with Entity Framework (Highly Desired).
- Experience with web services development (Highly Desired).
- Familiarity with .NET Core (Highly Desired).
- Experience integrating applications with Azure AD and Azure B2C (Nice to Have).
- Proficiency in web-based application deployment and debugging.
- Experience with Git or TFS for source control (Nice to Have).
