The AS400/GENEXUS Programmer role is at the heart of our IT department for Parrish Tire headquarters. As an integral part of the Parrish Tire team, this person will assist in developing and executing best practices and programming for our IT goals.

The AS400/GENEXUS Programmer role will specialize in programming and maintaining applications in an IBM Power 9 Systems environment. These applications are used primarily by Parrish Tire for enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), and other business-critical applications.
As an AS400/GENEXUS Programmer, you will be responsible for doing the following:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using GENEXUS and Control Language (CL) programming.
- Perform system upgrades, apply PTFs, and do routine system maintenance to ensure optimal performance of the IBM Power Systems.
- Work with SQL for querying databases.
- Identify and resolve software defects, system errors, and other issues related to the applications. Perform root cause analysis and apply solutions.
- Work with APIs and file transfer protocols to extract, transform, and load data for integration of our applications with those of our vendors, customers, and partners.
- Write and maintain technical documentation for applications, system configurations, and processes to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance.
- Provide technical support to end-users, help troubleshoot issues and offer training as necessary.
- Work with other IT team members to ensure applications and systems meet business requirements and comply with security protocols.

To be successful in this role you will meet the following requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent experience can sometimes be substituted.
- 3 – 5 years of previous experience in Genexus programming (experience with RPG or other languages will be considered).
- 3 – 5 years experience working with and maintaining IBM Power Systems or AS400.
- Proficient in CL, SQL, DDS, and SEU.
- Deep understanding of IBM Power Systems and IBMi.
- Experience with DB2 for iSeries, SQL, database design, and optimization.
- Experience with certain third-party applications such as Fortra SEQUEL, GoAnywhere MFT, PowerTech Exit Point Manager, and Symtrax Compleo is preferred. Experience with similar products will be considered.
- Familiarity with other IBM tools and knowledge of network and security fundamentals can be beneficial.
- Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and resolving complex issues related to applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders and document solutions effectively.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workloads effectively.
- Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies.

Work Environment: Majority of work will be performed in the office, but this person may be required to work in the warehouse or outdoors as needed to complete the daily responsibilities of this role.
