Cloud Automation Engineer (Hybrid) - Applicants MUST reside in Connecticut to be considered

About the position:
The Cloud Automation Engineer oversees and maintains automated processes (workflows/system jobs) that manage tasks both on on-premise servers and in the cloud (using Azure). These processes include things such as: transferring files, extracting data, and maintaining systems to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain Existing Systems: Ensure the processes currently running on on-premises servers are reliable and performing well.
- Develop Cloud Automation: Create and manage automated jobs in the cloud (Azure) to handle tasks like file transfers and data workflows.
- Monitoring and Alerts: Use tools to monitor these jobs and address issues proactively.
- Collaborate: Work with other teams to make sure cloud solutions integrate seamlessly with existing systems.
- Support & Troubleshoot: Provide technical help and resolve problems with automated solutions.
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Keep an eye on both physical and cloud-based processes to catch and fix issues.
- Perform updates and regular maintenance to ensure everything runs efficiently.
- Use tools like Azure Logic Apps and Azure Data Factory to develop workflows.
- Write clear documentation for processes and best practices.
- Help migrate on-premises jobs to the cloud with minimal disruptions.
What we're looking for:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience/training.
- Experience: 5+ years in a similar position. Familiarity with Azure and similar tools, cloud migration projects, and automation workflows. At least 3 years working with automation in platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP is preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in tools like SQL Server, scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell), monitoring tools (Azure Monitor), and cloud technologies. Bonus if you know CI/CD pipelines, networking concepts, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
