Job Snapshot:
- Our systems engineers manage and monitor all installed systems and datacenter infrastructure.
- Maintain and administer common and industry specific server software and operating systems.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of networking, telephony, and LAN/WAN related systems.
- Display familiarity or previous experience with workstation deployment and management, O365 administration, Azure, and virtual desktop/VM infrastructure.
- General troubleshooting and break\fix support for server and remote site infrastructure.
- Administer and support Hyper-V environment.
- Create and maintain accurate and thorough documentation of new and existing systems.
- Participate in rotating responsibilities of day-to-day administration of servers, workstations, network equipment, and phone system.
- Deliver tier 2 support for the Helpdesk when ticket escalation is required.
- Assist in maintaining a secure network infrastructure and promoting security awareness amongst users.
- Provide hardware support for servers, storage devices, phone systems, networking equipment, etc.
- Monitor and assist with maintaining the backup and disaster recovery infrastructure, as well as network and server performance and uptime.
- Create and test scripts for performing and/or modifying software installations, as well as for performing or automating server/network maintenance.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in a senior systems engineering position
- PowerShell experience a plus.
- Strong experience with monitoring servers and systems in a proactive environment.
- Strong Experience with virtualization, general server administration and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with network components such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points
- Capacity to work well in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues to resolve issues.
- Experience with server patch management and compliance adherence.
- Experience supporting o365 components.
- Azure cloud experience a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and bring systems level projects to completion.
- Ability to adhere to departmental standard operating procedures and firm wide policies.
Work Environment:
- Available and accessible during normal business or assigned work hours.
- Hybrid remote work options can be considered on a per-candidate basis.
- After hours (on call) as needed.
- 24/7 on-call rotation schedule for system outages or escalated support tickets.
- Some travel to locations in the Fenix Parts footprint.
