Scope
Our growing team is seeking an in-house IT System Administrator to play a vital role in the day-to-day support for MS Windows desktop computers, companywide software, and equipment for employees in the organization. Our operations span coast to coast from New York to California. Our technology is deployed in stores, distribution centers, vehicles, and offices which present a wide variety of challenges to managing, deploying, and supporting technology for our company.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Set up equipment for new users
· Troubleshot user issues in a wide variety of location types effectively with minimal remote access at times.
· Evaluate connectivity issues, equipment, and software
· Work effectively under pressure when systems are down to calmly diagnose the issue and resolve the outage as efficiently as possible
· Provide helpdesk support for network issues and respond to requests for IT support from managers
· Install and update network system improvements as needed
· Coordinate resource procurement activities.
· Train users in the proper use of hardware and software.
· Generate internal training knowledge base content to add to self-service support for end users
· Keep an inventory of equipment, software, and licenses
· Work well with the larger geographically distributed IT team, be able to self-start and self-manage when managers are not in the office.
· Assist other team members on location when IT upgrades are performed in our various locations.
Experience:
· Experience with MS Windows Desktop operating systems (Windows 10, 11) and business/office productivity applications suite management
· Office/Microsoft 365 and Azure implementation and management experience a plus
· Desktop and printer deployments
· Hardware installs and upgrades
· Software deployment upgrades using centralized tools or via remote access tools
· Experience with Windows Active Directory support.
· Experience with firewalls, anti-virus and anti-spyware.
· Familiar with operating system imaging concepts using tools such as WDS, MDT, SCCM, Ghost, or Acronis etc, is a plus.
· Familiarity with Outlook used with Exchange and/or Office 365
· Basic Knowledge of networking such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, routers, switches and cabling
· Experience in the following software and tools is highly desired and would be a plus:
- Office 365 cloud Azure/Entra Computer Imaging / MDM Software Knowledge Base software Service desk software
Candidate Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience or 3-5 years of System Administration experience
· Strong technical and diagnosis skills with desktop hardware, peripherals, and a variety of applications
· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
· Enjoys working with non-technical people and can explain and troubleshoot at a non-technical level with employees
· Strong attention to detail
· Professional etiquette and appearance
· Ability to learn about and implement new technologies quickly and accurately
· Devotion to researching current events in IT news and security related alerts
· Willingness to obtain additional certifications and actively pursue learning and skill building
· Able to travel to company locations to support and implement IT projects
· Able to occasionally lift items up to 50lbs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
