Job description
We are seeking a talented Part-Time .NET Developer to assist our Chief Information Officer (CIO) with the maintenance and development of our internal web applications. This part-time role offers flexible working hours and a hybrid work arrangement, initially requiring two days a week in the office. Once trained, there is potential for the role to become more remote. As a .NET Developer, you will work closely with the CIO to ensure our internal systems are efficient, functional, and up-to-date.
The ideal candidate will be a student who is pursuing a Computer Science degree and is looking for real-world experience. This role will likely become full-time in a year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the CIO with the maintenance and ongoing development of internal web applications and systems.
- Develop, test, and deploy updates and enhancements to internal web applications using .NET technologies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in internal systems, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Collaborate with the CIO to understand requirements and implement solutions that align with business needs.
- Ensure the internal website is secure, responsive, and optimized for performance.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Participate in the debugging and troubleshooting of internal applications.
- Maintain documentation related to internal web applications and updates.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Some experience with C# and/or ASP.NET for web development.
- Proficiency in working with Microsoft SQL Server for database management and queries.
- Solid understanding of web technologies, including HTML.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical team members.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure or AWS.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
Compensation:
- $25-$35 per hour, depending on experience.
- Pay review will be performed after 60 days.
