Position:
The Systems Engineer will be a part of the IT Infrastructure team and play a key role in new technology implementations while configuring and deploying to our existing infrastructure. They will be part of a team with experienced technology professionals willing to mentor and teach other members a broad range of IT infrastructure architecture, methods, and technologies. Some of the responsibilities include deploying, monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing systems & services. This role will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues
The IT Infrastructure team ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of a “Software as a Service” enterprise. We maintain a high availability cluster consisting of development, production, and organizational systems while utilize IT automation tools designed to support an “On-Premises” Cloud environment.
The ideal candidate will be eager to take on new challenges and learn new technologies. The qualified candidate must be comfortable in a highly collaborative environment working with other team members. The individual must also be highly motivated and results oriented.
Primary Duties:
- Respond to all level of support tickets as assigned.
- Create, implement, and maintain OS images for Workstations, Laptops and VM Servers.
- Maintain a Microsoft high availability cluster Infrastructure.
- Identify infrastructure issues and provide prompt and permanent resolution.
- Configure and maintain system backups to ensure data integrity.
- Configure and maintain monitoring software and respond/resolve alerts.
- Maintain, modify, and create Microsoft group policies that confirm to security best practices.
- Maintain, modify, and create Microsoft Active Directory OU’s, Group and Service accounts.
- Maintain Microsoft Exchange hybrid environment.
- Allocate and expand SAN LUN drives as needed for VMs, File Shares, and Databases.
- Document and improve operational/environmental practices and procedures.
- Assist the Application and Development team with deployments to the dev, stage, and production environments.
- Telecommunications end User PBX Support
- Available to be on-call 24x7
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
- Become a PowerShell Guru.
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years as a systems administrator in a Windows environment.
- Expert knowledge in design and maintenance of a virtualized infrastructure using MS Hyper-V.
- Expert knowledge of current Microsoft operating systems configuration and deployment in an enterprise environment.
- Storage solution experience including LUN management, SAN configuration, and storage network configuration with technologies such as Fiber Channel and EMC VNX devices.
- Expert knowledge of Group Policy Management, Active Directory and troubleshooting of the same.
- Expert knowledge of server backup schemes and data replication.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft SCCM.
- Ability to investigate, diagnose and provide resolution of software and hardware problems.
- Strong technical and analytical skills required for solving complex systems infrastructure issues.
- Working knowledge of internet networking, MPLS and storage networks.
- Working knowledge of remote access solutions, FTP and VPNs.
- Working knowledge of infosec best practices, anti-virus, and attack plane mitigation.
- Ability to react to change positively and work productively with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, teamwork, and desire to work in an Agile environment.
- Strong knowledge of PowerShell and Batch scripting.
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT/Computer Science or related field preferred.
- MCSA/CCNA certifications a plus.
- Linux experience a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting (up to 7 hours) at a workstation operating a PC.
- Ability to lift 40+ pounds unassisted
- Heavy data entry (large amount of typing on a keyboard and repetitive motion with a mouse).
- Focusing/looking at computer monitor for long periods.
- Reading documents in print and electronically.
- Bending, twisting, and stooping required on a regular basis.
- Use of a telephone to make and receive calls.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
