Purpose Team Lead is responsible for overseeing a team of nine developers who support, maintain, and enhance custom-built web applications. In addition to ensuring operational continuity, this role assumes a pivotal position in application strategy and planning, contributing to the development of long-term service delivery enhancements and technical direction. The Team Lead provides technical and strategic leadership, team and system performance evaluation, and cross-functional collaboration with leadership and other stakeholders to ensure that applications are aligned with agency objectives and meet the evolving needs of users.
Description/Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of nine developers responsible for supporting .NET-based applications integrated with Oracle and SQL Server backends, hosted both on-prem and within Azure Platform as a Service.
- Drive long-term planning and improvement efforts for school-facing applications and services.
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure technical initiatives align with strategic goals.
- Analyze support trends, usage data, and technology opportunities to shape application roadmaps.
- Guide incident response and request fulfillment efforts while balancing future-focused improvements.
- Ensure that team members are equipped with ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain and enforce standards for documentation of systems, processes, and support procedures.
- Generate performance and planning reports for stakeholders, including recommendations for improvements.
- Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in application development or support, with 1+ years of supervisory or team lead experience.
- Proven ability to contribute to or lead application planning, service improvement, or strategic initiatives.
- Proficiency with technologies including .NET framework, .NET Core, and Azure Platform as a Service (PaaS).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a public education or government agency setting.
- Familiarity with ITIL, Agile, Scrum, or other structured methodologies.
- Experience creating planning documents, roadmaps, or business cases for leadership review.
- Understanding of secure development practices and accessibility standards.
