The New York Compensation Insurance Rating Board (NYCIRB) is a non-profit, unincorporated association of insurance carriers. NYCIRB is licensed by the New York State Department of Financial Services as the official workers’ compensation rate service organization in the State. In this capacity, NYCIRB provides a variety of services to the workers’ compensation industry, including data collection and analysis, and the development of loss costs and rating values. These activities, along with analytical tools, research, and customer focused services, are intended to foster a stable and healthy workers’ compensation system in the State of New York.
We are looking for an experienced Full Stack .Net Application developer with MVC and SQL experience responsible for building, upgrading and maintaining existing .net applications, including anything from back-end services to their client-end counterparts. Your primary responsibilities will be to design, develop and support these applications, and to coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is essential.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C# code
- Participate in the full SDLC involving design, implementation, peer review, testing, & launching
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
- Work with Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Developers in defining requirements and prototyping solutions
- Work with users to understand business requirements
- Review project requirements and assess and estimate the necessary time-to-completion
- Document and propose and edit business solutions and requirements
- Participate and / or lead in relevant groups with sister organizations were subject matter expertise is relevant
- Other duties as assigned and deemed necessary by management
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years of software development experience
- 1+ years of C# .Net Framework and/or .Net Core / React
- 1+ years of developing MVC Applications
- 1+ years of writing and reading SQL Queries
- Proficient in C# with a good knowledge of its ecosystems
- Knowledge of concurrency patterns in C# and C# libraries
- Experience using Entity Framework and LINQ
- Experience in various API architectures including REST and SOAP web services
- Understanding of best practices for building applications with peak performance and reliability
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, Github and Git Rebase
- Understanding of Agile methodologies
- Ability to execute projects accurately and quickly
- Solid team player must be self-motivated and punctual
- Must be responsible, and detail oriented
- Microsoft certifications are a plus
- Insurance industry knowledge is a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Technology is a plus
- Experience with writing Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle queries is a plus
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science field or equivalent work experience

SALARY RANGE:
$92,000.00 - $115,000.00
