About the Role
AVS Technology is seeking a highly skilled .NET Developer to design, develop, and maintain robust software applications using the Microsoft .NET technology stack. This role is ideal for a developer who is experienced in integrating enterprise systems, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and delivering scalable, high-performance applications. The ideal candidate will also have familiarity with related technologies including Pega, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), and Salesforce, and will contribute to IT initiatives supporting the Department of Veterans affairs.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy enterprise applications using the .NET Framework and .NET Core
- Build and maintain APIs, web services, and backend processes that integrate with internal and external systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design technical solutions aligned with business requirements
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing applications, ensuring system performance and reliability
- Support the integration of enterprise platforms including Pega, Salesforce, and EDI solutions
- Assist in the design and optimization of SQL databases and stored procedures
- Write technical documentation for code, system architecture, and workflows
- Follow Agile development practices and participate in team ceremonies (sprint planning, retrospectives, etc.)
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field

- Substitution:
- Eight (8) additional years of relevant experience may substitute for the educational requirement
- Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in .NET software development
- Proven experience integrating APIs, databases, and third-party enterprise systems
- Experience working in Windows and web-based application environmentsRequired Skills
- Proficiency in .NET Framework, .NET Core, C#, and ASP.NET MVC/Web API
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and web services
- Knowledge of SQL Server, T-SQL, and database design best practices
- Understanding of enterprise integration using Pega, Salesforce, and EDI technologies
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
- Excellent technical documentation and communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience in federal contracting or public sector IT environments
- Familiarity with VA Financial Services Center systems and business processes
- Experience with cloud services such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and federal cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP)
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, Git, and automated testing tools
- Understanding of microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates)
- Certifications such as:
