Planet Technologies, the Nation’s leading Microsoft services provider to the public sector, is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our growing team as an Azure Consultant. In this role, you will be supporting impactful projects that benefit our country.

The Azure Consultant is responsible for the scoping, assessing, planning, leading, designing, delivering, testing, and creating supporting technical documentation for the customer implementation projects, supporting, and migrating workloads to enterprise cloud platform solutions. The Azure Consultant possesses and maintains wide knowledge in the Azure platform, O365 and Entra ID and comparable technologies utilizing that knowledge to inspire and inform customers, coworkers, and strategic partners.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

- Creates process, documentation and sets standards in several practice areas.
- Will demonstrate the skills to be the technical Lead and support customer projects.
- Will have the ability to implement related technologies and understand their direct dependencies.
- Ability to navigate new or unknown technical areas and quickly get up to speed to support customer requirements.
- Professional with excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Must have the ability to proactively respond to internal/external questions and collaborate across internal/external teams.
- Will be able to solve problems efficiently in complex environments and suggest process improvement or standardization as requested and/or needed.
- Expertise and demonstrates a proactive approach to help customers make critical decisions around features and capabilities and referring additional products or services within the specific areas of technical competence if needed and/or required for the customer.
- Must possess the experience and knowledge of when to effectively articulate escalations and communicate progress to stakeholders.

Technical Abilities:

- Will demonstrate ownership stake in the successful technical delivery of customer projects.
- Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies with demonstrated hands-on experience in several of the following domains: o Azure Core Platform: Entra ID, Governance, Compute, Storage, Networking o O365 stack of services o Commercial, Government and Azure Secret o Governance experience is preferred o Multi-cloud or multi-tenancy experience o Microsoft Security technology stack experience and deep knowledge is highly desired. o Compliance such as NIST or CMMC mapping of controls

Essential Duties:

- Leads the technical deployment project by providing oversight of involved technologies, risks and dependencies.
- Maps technical requirements into actionable steps to deploy and hand over technical solutions.
- Designs and configures all facets of an Azure environment or Microsoft Tenant.
- Plans and executes end-to-end implementation and supports applicable migrations/deployments of target workloads.
- Maintains above average understanding of existing and emerging Microsoft technologies.
- Can be a liaison between the technology and customer requirements and communicate accordingly to achieve desired outcomes.
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

- This job operates in a professional office environment both onsite, remotely, and in a hybrid capacity. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines. In addition, familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and any additional programs or equipment used to execute specific tasks as required for the role.

Education/Certifications:

- Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field and 5+ years of experience
- Preferred Professional Licenses/Certifications: Certifications for Azure, Certifications for O365, Secret Clearance

Salaries for Consultants at Planet Technologies range from $120,000 and $210,000. Several factors will impact final pay offered to a successful candidate including but not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, clearance level, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, training, etc.
