Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Microsoft Azure Administrator with architect and design skills to join our AMS team. Initially, this is a contract (~3 months) position. With success, the position will transition to full-time after approximately 3 months. The Azure Administrator will provide technical leadership on Microsoft Azure and Azure DevOps areas. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of implementations, cloud migrations, DevOps, governance, and platform strategy as well as custom solution delivery provided by development or configuration tools.
As a Microsoft Azure Administrator, you will also be deeply engaged early with prospective customers in the Sales/Presales cycle to provide technical demonstrations and help support the overall sales effort. The candidate will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Azure Cloud and Azure DevOps and must hold relevant certifications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into robust and scalable Azure-based solutions. Create architectural designs, ensuring they align with best practices and compliance standards.
2. Assess and recommend public and hybrid Cloud solutions, including Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS).
3. Implement Azure DevOps pipelines to automate application deployment, testing, and monitoring, promoting the DevOps culture within the organization.
4. Configure and manage Azure Virtual Machines (VMs) to support various workloads. Optimize VM performance, scalability, and resource allocation.
5. Lead efforts to establish and maintain a secure Azure environment. Implement security policies, identity and access management, network security, and encryption protocols to protect data and applications.
6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Azure services and obtain relevant Azure certifications to stay current with industry best practices.
7. Implement Infrastructure as Code practices using Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or similar tools to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure Azure solutions are aligned with overall business objectives. Provide guidance and training to other team members as needed.
9. Should be able to execute short term strategic consulting projects on Microsoft Azure, assessments, POC, map solutions to client business processes, and develop value proposition and business case.
10. Identify and resolve performance issues, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies within the Azure environment. Continuously optimize Azure resources to achieve cost-effectiveness.
11. Provide thought leadership and IT transformation recommendations for large collaboration programs around Microsoft Azure.
Required Skills:
- Strong expertise in Azure DevOps, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Virtual Networks, and Azure Security Center.
- Experience in developing cloud migration approaches, defining migration roadmaps and providing estimates.
- Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation.
- In-depth knowledge of Azure services, resource management, and governance.
- Experience with Azure Resource Manager, Resource Groups, Virtual Networks, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Blob Storage, PowerShell DSC, Azure Automation, Azure Active Directory, and Azure Site Recovery.
- Experience in developing and deploying Cloud Native Applications using Azure PaaS Capabilities (App Services Plans, Key Vault, SQL Azure DB, Azure.
- Functions, Containers, AKS, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, API Management).
- Experience in Enterprise Integration Technologies such as BizTalk, Azure API Management, Logic Apps, Service Bus.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work in a team and independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong commitment to staying up to date with industry trends and best practices.
- Knowledge of programming and scripting languages such as C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, & Bash etc.
- Experience with Azure Governance and Best Practices (Role Based Access Control, Networking Architectures, Cost Management controls, etc.).
- Should be comfortable and able to present ideas to both technical and business stakeholders and facilitate strategic discussions.
- Able to support pre-sales engagements by identifying and communicating potential solutions that meet our customer's need within their constraints.
- Azure certifications such as AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-303, AZ-304 (or equivalent) strongly preferred.
