Role and Responsibilities
The PSE Azure Expert Engineer serves as the face of Visual Edge IT when working Azure Projects for our clients. Your Azure expertise will also be an escalation point for the team(s) involved in the project work.
An Azure Expert Engineer will:
- Lead all technical aspects of Azure-related projects.
- Handle escalations from the PSE team, as well as other technical teams as needed.
- Work with clients to ensure scoped solution meets requirements/needs of the client.
- Work with 3rd party vendors as needed to complete projects
General Duties
- Communication with clients via Phone calls, Teams meetings and email.
- Complete project work withing proscribed deadlines.
- Update documentation post-project to ensure accuracy.
- Provide customers with the highest level of service by employing prompt responses and effective communication.
- Work with Project Leadership to help complete project scopes related to Azure.
- Communicate with Project Managers to provide status of projects, and note any technical pitfalls discovered.
- Work with Escalation points, and SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) to properly evaluate aspects of client environment.
- Represent Visual Edge Technology professionally to all involved parties including customers, prospects, and outside vendors or partners.
- Adherence and commitment to Visual Edge Technology Core Values.
- Timely and accurate completion of reports and documentation.
Technical Responsibilities
- Serve as escalation point for client during the Project Process.
- Perform remote engineering and answer technical questions from the clients or vendors as required.
- Remediate and resolve various PC, network, and server issues remotely.
- Determine the best implementation practices based upon the complexity of the client environment.
- Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate PM or team when a clear path to resolution is not available.
- Create and develop internal knowledgebase of network diagrams, documents, processes, and other items for the new client.
- Participate in on-going training and obtain relevant industry certifications.
- Provide technical expertise and assistance in a remote capacity with project implementation, onboarding, and offboarding tasks.
- Assist with developing, writing, and maintaining standard operating procedure documentation.
- Perform regular audits and reviews of customer networks to ensure proper security and stability during Project implementation.
- Provide technical expertise to Sales and Engineering teams regarding products and technologies to fit various customer needs post-Project implementation.
Requirements
- Minimum of an associate's degree in computer science, networking or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 2+ years full-time experience working with, and deploying, Azure Solutions.
- Must maintain a professional appearance and hygiene at all times during working hours.
- Experience in a national organization with clients in disparate geographic areas
- Experience with multiple IT disciplines, including Network, Servers, Databases, Cloud, Automation, PowerShell, Command Line, and Virtualization.
- Experience in Technical Writing and process development
- Experience with DNS, VPN, LLDP and other networking protocols
- Experience with deploying and troubleshooting VPNs
- Experience with scoping/architecting Azure Solutions
Preferred Technical Certifications and Experience
One or more of the following:
- Microsoft 365 Fundamentals
- Microsoft MCSA 2012 or later
- Microsoft (MTA) - Networking Fundamentals (Exam 366), and/or Windows Operating System Fundamentals (Exam 349)
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
- Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
- Microsoft Azure Architect Expert (AZ-305)
- CompTIA Network+
- Cisco Meraki Solutions Specialist
- Cisco Certified Network Associate
- Ubiquiti UNS
- Ubiquiti UEWA
- Barracuda firewall (CGF01, or CGF04, or CGF09, or CGFPET1)
