Backend Developer (Hybrid)

Creativity, development and innovation is the heartbeat of Dober, and we're seeking a strong Backend Developer to join our fast-paced and mission-driven development team. This role is ideal for someone with 5+ years of experience designing and building robust, scalable backend systems using modern Microsoft technologies and cloud services. The ideal candidate thrives in an Agile environment, writes clean and testable code, and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software powering both web and mobile platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend systems, services, and APIs using ASP.NET/C# and MSSQL.
Collaborate with front-end developers, product owners, and QA engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Build and optimize RESTful APIs for consumption by mobile and web applications.
Ensure high performance, availability, and scalability of backend infrastructure.
Design and implement secure, reusable, and efficient data access layers.
Participate in architectural planning and help shape backend best practices and standards.
Write unit tests and integrate automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline.
Document technical designs, system architecture, data models, and API specifications to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharing across the team.
Monitor and improve application performance, logging, and error handling.
Troubleshoot complex issues in development, staging, and production environments.
Stay up to date with backend technologies, security standards, and industry trends.

Required Qualifications

4+ years of experience in backend development, preferably within a SaaS environment.
Strong proficiency in C#, ASP.NET, and related Microsoft technologies.
Hands-on experience working with Microsoft SQL Server; knowledge of database design, optimization, and stored procedures.
Solid understanding of RESTful API architecture and API security practices (OAuth2, JWT, etc.).
Familiarity with Entity Framework or similar ORM tools.
Experience working with version control systems like Git.
Proficient in troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing backend systems.
Comfortable using Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Self-driven, organized, and comfortable in a hybrid work environment (2–3 days per week on-site).

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field is required.
Equivalent professional experience or relevant certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), including EC2, Lambda, RDS, or similar services.
Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
Exposure to message queues or event-driven architectures (e.g., RabbitMQ, AWS SNS/SQS).
Knowledge of PostgreSQL or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB) a plus.
Experience working on real-time data systems, analytics pipelines, or performance-intensive applications.
